Today is a special day. Partly because it’s July 14, la fête nationale de France , partly because Michele et Antoine, my new French friends from Provence, come to Taiwan. How to celebrate la Bastille day with those nouveau amis à Taiwan ? Nothing tops the special Taiwan-style dishes and a bottle of great wine , Je crois. To pair with des mets typiquement Taiwanese tonight , I selected one great Riesling , 2010 Scharzhof from Egon Müller in Germany. The delicate acidity , un peu creamy and amazingly sweet flavor , and honey like floral aroma of this chilled wine makes this hot night so frais ,relaxing , joyful and enjoyable. Although I tried to chat with Michele et Antoine with my poor French ,in the end, I found that those yummy dishes and bon vin are really our best language in common.
